of participation in a training environment. However, your trainer may
have to take into consideration special conditions or any limiting factors
that your disposition enforces. They will adapt your regime accordingly
and do their up most to afford your personal reassurance towards your

Seniors
As we grow older there our bodies change. Our hormones, enzymes, and
other important biochemical functions, lead to a variety of physiological
changes. There is a noted decline in lean muscle mass, bone density,
flexibility, oxygen consumption, metabolism, cognitive function, balance,
agility, and response mechanism. At the same time body fat increases.
Clinical studies carried out by Tufts University, supported by anecdotal
evidence prove that resistance training, coupled with aerobic activity
supplemented with healthy diets were able dramatically reduce the effects
of the aging process. Our personal trainers have a much experience working
with senior citizens in need of a natural elixir.

Pre-Natal and Post-Partum Women
A natural and healthy lifestyle is essential for all pre natal women
and is paramount to assist in the reduction of birth complications. Unless
instructed otherwise by her physician, a woman can exercise up to the
eighth month. After the birth of the baby, an exercise program can commence
almost immediately as is recommended to reduce any excess body fat gained
during pregnancy.

People with HIV/AIDS
People with HIV experience a wasting of lean muscle, a loss of bone density
along with reduced strength, endurance and aerobic capacity. A balanced
resistance, cardiovascular and nutritional program can inhibit, and in
some cases prevent, the deteriorating processes. While there exists no
evidence that a fitness program will boost the immune system the enrichment
in quality of life is beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Cancer sufferers
There are also similarities with people that are fighting cancer. The
physical problems encountered are dependent upon the type of cancer and
the stage that it has reached. There are also implications around the
relative fitness levels of the individual and whether he or she is undergoing
treatments, particularly chemotherapy. Training programs can be devised
around the client's own personal needs. Often there may be lifestyle
issues that can be addressed that may assist in alleviating some of the
burdens that the client may be suffering.

Cardiac Patients
In the past cardiac patients were confined to bed and doctors insisted
on complete inactivity, however physicians attitudes are changing and
it is now common practice to enforce monitored exercise in order to aid
recovery. All cardiac rehabilitation programs include exercise regimes
designed to strengthen the heart and address cholesterol issues. It has
been proven that enforcing these lifestyle alterations can radically
reduce the chances of any reoccurrence.

Renal Patients
People with kidney complaints have many difficulties with their metabolism
particularly with proteins. Protein is essential for the body to repair
or build tissue, particularly muscle. Renal patients are put on low protein
diets and therefore suffer muscle wastage. When a dialysis patient embarks
upon a weight-training program, he or she is able to have a diet containing
more protein due simply to the muscles using it; therefore it does not
have to be processed through the kidney. Resistance training causes an
increase in bone density likewise for osteoporosis sufferers. Renal and
dialysis patients that train are able to optimise their living standards
to become more in line with normality. It is necessary to monitor renal
sufferers throughout any form of training; our certified personal trainers
are able to do this.

Diabetics
Exercise is a necessity for people with diabetes. A regular fitness regime
involving cardiovascular training and weight training can improve the
body's response to insulin. It also helps in the control of blood sugar
levels. Training reduces the risk of heart disease as well as decreasing
body fat, cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Training comes highly
recommended by physicians to most diabetics and the monitored schedules
furnished and individualised by our trainers are the ideal way for diabetic
sufferers to introduce an enforced pattern of lifestyle changes that
can be viewed as essential.

High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol
High blood pressure forces the heart to work harder. The heart needs
to pump more to deliver adequate blood and oxygen to supply everyday
bodily functions. The direct result is an enlarged heart. The risk of
heart attack is increased, as is the possibility of stroke and renal
failure. Studies find overweight people who suffer from hypertension
are particularly at risk from heart failure and attacks. Cardiovascular
exercise can greatly reduce blood pressure levels by increasing the body's
oxygen consumption. Regular, sustained aerobic training dramatically
lowers heart rate and blood pressure in most people.

Youth and Obesity
Recent psychological experiments undertaken in schools and colleges have
highlighted certain aspects and social behaviour patterns in the young
that is rapidly proving that our adolescent siblings are prone to the
new order or phenomenon of 'fatist'. Obese and overweight children and
teens are being increasingly alienated and ostracized by their peers
Ongoing research and studies into this are proving this can bring with
it some psychological issues or even problems.
Fat camps run during the summer months are becoming more and more popular
with attendance levels rocketing. Weight control is a progressive education
that can be taught. Our personal trainers are being asked to work with
more and more adolescents in order to control their weight. We understand
that this is a delicate and sensitive area. Our professionals deal with
similar or identical situations on a regular basis, virtually daily.
